I'm a quiet planty girl who loves nature.
I have an instinct for color.
Having no professional training in art, self-taught to explore mixed media.
Art is my way to loudly express myself, observe the world and pursue freedom.
Art is my religion.
Hi friend,
I’m Tricia! I live in a loft apartment filled with leafy foliage plants with my South African boyfriend, JD, in Taipei, Taiwan.
I’m thrilled you found your way here!
Inspirations
My grandma is an Atayal aborigine who used to live her early life in the mountains. Having one fourth of Taiwanese indigenous blood, I’m deeply connected with the land and inspired by exploration in nature. Taiwan is a lush mountainous island surrounded by ocean, which explains why my go to colors blues and greens. And I’m very lucky to have both my parents’ mountain cabin and a beach house shared with our dearest friends to feed my inspiration constantly.
Why my art matters?
Art has helped me shift from endless insomnia nights to fresh mornings waking up without an alarm. From feeling so depressed that I was scared of bed time and didn’t want to wake up to face the next day to now feeling so excited that I wake up earlier than usual when I have a full art day!
I create because it is the one thing that flows most naturally from me. It enables me to explore and get to know myself better. It heals. It brings me so much joy and gives me purposes. I cannot imagine my life without it.
Art was guiding me to see the LIGHT during my darkest time. That’s also why I like the gold accents so much as if I see the hope of LIGHT. With the gold, viewers see different things from different perspectives. What matters the most is what we see, experience and reflect on ourselves. The viewer is a walk of art. And of course, there must be joy in it.
